Medalist is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Tsurumaikada. It has been serialized in Kodansha’s Monthly Afternoon since May 2020. The manga won at the 68th Shogakukan Manga Award for the general category. Kodansha licensed it in English, and they’ve been releasing it since May 2021.
The story follows Tsukasa Akeuraji, a man who missed out on a career of solo-skating due to ‘starting too late.’ He meets Inori Yuitsuka, a girl who reminds him of himself, who wants to skate so much that she’d been practicing in secret. She asks him for lessons, and he vows to make her a medalist and prevent her from ending up as he did.
