The Doctor Elise anime has released a character trailer for its main character Elise de Lawrence, who will be voiced by Yui Ishikawa. Maho Film is animating it under the direction of Kumiko Habara.
Other cast members for the anime include Yohei Azakami as Elise’s fiance Linden de Romanov, and Yoshimasa Hosoya as the doctor/teacher Graham de Fallon. Deko Akao is doing the series composition, while Yuko Watanabe is doing the character designs. The theme songs are “believer” by Ishikawa herself as the opening theme, and “Listen” by Maju Arai as the ending theme.
The Doctor Elise anime is based on the Doctor Elise: The Royal Lady with the Lamp novel by Yuin. It was first published on Kakao’s KakaoPage service from December 2015 to April 2016. A manhwa adaptation illustrated by Mini was serialized in KakaoPage from September 2017 to February 2018. Piccoma has licensed the novel in Japanese, while Tappytoon licensed it in English.
Tappytoon describes the novel’s plot as:
