Anime streaming platform Crunchyroll has announced its first-ever Italian dub lineup. The shows that will be streaming in Italian are My Dress-Up Darling, Ranking of Kings, and the first season of The Rising of the Shield Hero. All of these titles already have an English dub that is available to stream on the platform.
My Dress-Up Darling
The widely-anticipated romantic comedy series of Winter 2022 was animated by studio Cloverworks. The story follows the blossoming friendship (and romance) between Gojo Wakana, a hina doll maker, and Marin Kitagawa, who aims to cosplay as many of her favorite characters.
“Wakana Gojo is a high school boy who wants to become a kashirashi–a master craftsman who makes traditional Japanese Hina dolls. Though he’s gung-ho about the craft, he knows nothing about the latest trends, and has a hard time fitting in with his class. The popular kids–especially one girl, Marin Kitagawa–seem like they live in a completely different world. That all changes one day, when she shares an unexpected secret with him, and their completely different worlds collide.”

Ranking of Kings
The anime premiered in 2021 and was animated by WIT Studio. It follows the story of a young prince called Bojji. Despite trying his best to follow his dream to become one of the greatest of kings, he is deaf and often a subject of bullying. But all that changes when he meets Kage, a Shadow Clan member who decides to support Bojji.
“How prosperous your nation is, how many powerful warriors it boasts, and how heroic and strong its king is. These are the criteria that factor into the system known as the Ranking of Kings. The main character, Bojji, was born the first prince of the kingdom ruled by King Bossu, who is ranked number seven. But Bojji was born unable to hear and is so powerless that he can’t even swing a sword. In consequence, his own retainers and the public, look down upon him as completely unfit to be king. It is then that Bojji finds his first friend, Kage, and Bojji’s life takes a dramatic turn…”

The Rising of the Shield Hero
First released in 2019 and animated by Kinema Citrus, the anime series follows an otaku named Iwatani Naofumi, who one day gets transported into another world after reading a particular book in the library. There, he becomes one of the Four Cardinal Heroes and begins fighting the Waves of Catastrophe as the Shield Hero.
“Excited by the prospect of a grand adventure, Naofumi sets off with his party. However, merely a few days later, he is betrayed and loses all his money, dignity, and respect. Unable to trust anyone anymore, he employs a slave named Raphtalia and takes on the Waves and the world. But will he really find a way to overturn this desperate situation?”
