The upcoming My Master Has No Tail anime has revealed a second trailer that introduces additional cast. First announced during AnimeJapan 2022, the anime begins airing in October 2022.
The additional cast includes Taketatsu Ayana as Kirino Enshi, Ishida Akira as Ebisuya Utaroku, and Suwabe Jun`ichi as Daikokutei Buncho. The main cast was announced in March following the release of the first trailer. The previously-announced main cast includes:
- M・A・O as Mameda
- Hibiku Yamamura as Bunko
- Lynn as Shirara Tsubaki
- Takuya Eguchi as Byakudanji Tsubaki
- Ayumu Murase as Sakujiro
- Natsuki Aikawa as Omatsu
- Ikumi Hasegawa as Koito
- Yuichiro Umehara as Rakuda
My Master Has No Tail will be animated by Studio Lidenfilms and directed by Hideyo Yamamoto. Touko Machida is in charge of the series composition while Ryou Yamauchi is working on the character designs. It is based on TNSK’s Uchi no Shishou wa Shippo ga Nai (My Master Has No Tail) manga which is serialized by Kodansha. The manga is also licensed in English by Kodansha:
Mameda is a tanuki who was born in the wrong era – all she wants is to trick humans, but that age of tanuki shenanigans is over. But one woman, a rakugo master named Bunko, shows Mameda it’s still possible to cast magic on humans…only with words, not illusions.
