In the previous episode, episode 6, Momose receives a call from his former boss. Seeing Momose in a frantic state, Shirosaki decides to give him a ride home and gives Momose the courage to face Kurono, Momose’s former boss. Momose then calls his former boss, only to receive shouting and haunting. Kurono, the former boss, threatens Momose that he will go to where he lives and make him pay for not being too grateful to him. This made Momose terrified and made him want to move to another apartment. However, he didn’t have enough money to do that. Shirosaki then asked Momose if he wanted to live with him, to which Momose said yes. The official website for the My New Boss Is Goofy anime describes the plot of episode 7 as:

While enjoying his stay at Shirosaki’s house, Momose decides to tell Shirosaki about his former boss, Kurono. Momose tries his best to tell him about the time when he felt he had to live up to Kurono’s expectations when he first joined the company, as well as about the power harassment that got worse day by day. Later, when Momose returns to his apartment to get a change of clothes, he suddenly looks out the window and sees a shadow of a person behind his apartment, although it is too dark to see clearly
