We saw tons of flashbacks about Futaba and Natsumi’s life when they were still kids in episode 7 of My Senpai is Annoying. Due to various circumstances, Touko and Yuuto are eating together with Futaba and Natsumi. Yuuto told them that Futaba and Natsumi are really close friends. Thus, Futaba tells what happened during her very first encounter with Natsumi.
Warning: This Might Contain Spoilers.
Based on Futaba’s looks, I think it is safe to assume that she was really small when she was a kid. Even Natsumi didn’t know that she was younger than Futaba, which is not surprising. Their first encounter is one of Futaba’s unforgettable memories because it is the reason why she was late on her first day in middle school. Remembering this still makes Futaba’s blood boil.
I honestly think that Futaba is cuter when she is angry, and this particular scene highlights it.
How Futaba Inspired Natsumi
Episode 7 of My Senpai is Annoying revealed that Natsumi’s hobby is running. That said, the first scene of the episode shows why she stopped running and why she isn’t joining the track and field club for years. Joining a club is very common in middle school and high school. Natsumi explained why she isn’t too fond of joining one. There, Futaba’s kind words made her change her opinion.
Personally, I think people who feel the same way as Natsumi really do need to watch this anime.
Friendship
Futaba seems to be joining the art club, despite being bad at drawing. Because of this, some people are making fun of her and bullying her. Though, this is the reason why Natsumi and Futaba became so close to each other since Natsumi taught those bullies a lesson. Not only that, but Natsumi also implanted some of Futaba’s words to those people regarding the matter of joining a club. At the end of the day, the two of them decided that they will be calling each other by their first name without using any honorifics.
Episode 7 of My Senpai is Annoying was really heartwarming for me because it also takes me back to my high school days. The episode ended with Natsumi telling Touko that she cheers for her younger brother Yuuto, who just joined the basketball club. Episode 8 will air on November 28, 2021, and you can watch it on Funimation.
Lastly, if you enjoy seeing the past of Futaba and Natsumi, you can vote for the anime on our weekly poll.
Synopsis
Igarashi Futuba’s new job would be great if her senpai, Takeda Harumi, wasn’t so incredibly annoying! Futuba hates his laugh, she hates how big he is, and she really hates that he treats her like a little kid. Just because Futuba is short and looks young doesn’t make her a kid, and just because she spends so much time with Takeda doesn’t mean she sees him as anything but an annoying senpai…or does she?!
