Netmarble is moving ahead with its Shangri-La Frontier: The Seven Colossi game, two years after a teaser trailer was revealed in 2023. On July 6, the game developer released an announcement trailer, featuring Sunraku and other characters as they take on monsters, execute special abilities, and explore towns. Yuma Uchida and Rina Hidaka will reprise their roles as Sunraku and Emul, respectively. The game was teased, “The world of ShanFro appears in 3D! Defeat huge bosses with 2-person alternating combat that can be easily enjoyed with one hand!” An official X (formerly Twitter) account was also created. Netmarble and Netmarble Nexus will release this smartphone game.

While no release date was confirmed for Shangri-La Frontier: The Seven Colossi, Netmarble’s recent game timeline report (Page 8) suggests that it isn’t scheduled for 2025. Other recent Netmarble game updates include The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin, set for release on consoles, PC, and phones in the second half of 2025, Solo Leveling: Arise Overdrive by Netmarble Neo, and Solo Leveling: KARMA, also by Netmarble Neo, which was just announced at Anime Expo.

The manga adaptation by Katarina (story) and Ryosuke Fuji (art) has been published by Kodansha since July 2020, with over 13 million copies in circulation. C2C adapted the series across two two-cour anime seasons, with a third immediately announced after Season 2’s finale. Crunchyroll streams all 50 anime episodes in English subbed and dubbed, describing the anime:

Rakuro Hizutome only cares about one thing: beating crappy VR games. He devotes his entire life to these buggy games and could clear them all in his sleep. One day, he decides to challenge himself and play a popular god-tier game called Shangri-La Frontier. But he quickly learns just how difficult it is. Will his expert skills be enough to uncover its hidden secrets?
