Nisio Isin To Launch New Manga in Weekly Shonen Jump
Nisio Isin’s Zaregoto series released the first volume with art by take in February 2002 and the final, 9th volume in November 2005 under Kodansha’s novel label KODANSHA NOVELS. The debut volume inspired an original video anime adaptation by Shaft, which released a total of 8 volumes from October 2016 to September 2017. Yuki Kaji, known as the voice actor of Eren Yeager in Attack on Titan, voiced the protagonist “I” and also narrated the 20th-anniversary video as the character with a script written by the author.
Vertical licensed the Zaregoto light novel series for English releases and published the first volume titled Decapitation: Kubikiri Cycle in January 2017 and the latest, third volume titled SUSPENSION: Kubitsuri High School – the Nonsense User’s Disciple in September 2019. The official website describes the plot of the debut volume as:
A dropout from an elite Houston-based program for teens is on a visit to a private island. Its mistress, virtually marooned there, surrounds herself with geniuses, especially of the young and female kind—one of whom ends up headless one fine morning.
