After an incredible opening weekend in Japan, it was announced that the ONE PIECE FILM RED has earned over 5 billion yen (~$37.5 million USD) in the 8 days since its premiere on August 6. The movie mobilized over 3.6 million people and continues to move towards soon becoming the best earning ONE PIECE film in history. The movie is getting an international release this fall, and you can watch the latest trailer:
The movie focuses on Uta, with the Red Hair Pirates also having a big part. Kaori Nazuka voices Uta, with Ado providing the singing voice. Five of the songs were already released with animated music videos, and they are the main theme song “New Genesis”, a collaboration with Mrs. Green Apple “I’m invincible.”, a collaboration with Vaundy “Backlight”, a collaboration with FAKE TYPE. “Fleeting Lullaby” and collaboration with Yuta Orisaka “The World Turns”. Earning over 5 billion yen in 8 days is already huge, and we’ll see how long the ONE PIECE FILM RED hype will continue as it releases in more countries worldwide!
