VIZ Media announced that it has acquired the One-Punch Man Season 3 anime, with Variety adding that VIZ’s license “encompasses theatrical, television, digital, home entertainment, ancillary, and merchandise rights across North America, Latin America, and Oceania.” No streaming services have been confirmed. VIZ says more information will be revealed at a later date.
One-Punch Man Season 3 is scheduled to be released in October 2025, revealed alongside its latest visual and trailer. It comes six years after a polarizing second season. One-Punch Man Season 3 producer Atsushi Fujishiro noted the expectations attached to its return in a March 2025 interview, stating, “Preparations for One Punch Man Season 3 are steadily progressing. It’s a completely different kind of project compared to the April season anime [Can a Boy-Girl Friendship Hold Up? (No, It Can’t!!)], but it’s also a popular title, and we know expectations are high. We’re working hard to make sure we don’t let those expectations down.“
One-Punch Man Season 1 was directed by Shingo Natsume at Madhouse. Chikara Sakurai took over with Season 2 at J.C.Staff and will again helm One-Punch Man Season 3. Hulu streams the series in North America, while Netflix has it in Canada and Latin America. Hulu describes the series:
Saitama only became a hero for fun, but after three years of ‘special’ training, he finds that he can beat even the mightiest opponents with a single punch. Though he faces new enemies every day, it turns out being devastatingly powerful is actually kind of a bore. Can a hero be too strong?
