A description from the official website is:
In the modern age where information controls people, the entire world is saturated with excessive information and overflowing with curses. As the world descends into magical confrontations, war itself stands as the ultimate curse. Amidst all this, Abe no Seimei stands out as the foremost authority on discerning truth from lies. Now more than ever, Abe no Seimei’s significance is immense. This is why Abe no Seimei should be depicted now.
This marks the second recent announcement based on the world of Baku Yumemakura’s Onmyoji light novels after the Netflix anime, first announced at TUDUM 2022, released a trailer on October 19. Daisuke Namikawa and Shintaro Asanuma will star in the anime as Abe Seimei and Minamoto Hiromasa, respectively. Soubi Yamamoto was announced as the director of the anime, with Natsu Hashimoto and Yuiko Kato in charge of the scripts.
Baku Yumemakura has been writing the Onmyoji novel series, published by Bungeishunju, since September 1986. The novel follows an onmyoji named Abe no Seimei, a master of a mystical Japanese art known as onmyodo. The novel series spawned a manga adaptation by Reiko Okano in Hakusensha’s Melody magazine from 1993 to 2005. Onmyoji also received various live-action adaptions over the years: a 2001 Japanese television drama adaptation, two live-action films directed by Yojiro Takita in 2001 and 2003, and two separate films broadcast on Japanese television in 2015 and 2020. A Chinese live-action film adaptation directed by Guo Jingming was also produced and titled The Yin-Yang Master: Dream of Eternity.
