April 12 marks the anniversary of Oshi no Ko anime’s premiere and the series’s global X (formerly Twitter) account unveiled a special visual featuring Ai Hoshino and her twins, Aqua and Ruby. Season 2 will premiere this July and the anime will reveal more information regarding the upcoming season on May 26.
Studio Doga Kobo (Shikimori’s Not Just a Cutie) animated the first season of the series with Daisuke Hiramaki (Selection Project) as director and Saori Tachibana (Wasteful Days of High School Girls) as assistant director. Jin Tanaka (Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club) was in charge of writing the scripts and Kanna Hirayama (Rent-a-Girlfriend) did the character designs.

The anime adaptation is based on the manga series written by Aka Akasaka (Kaguya-sama: Love is War) and illustrated by Mengo Yokari (Scum’s Wish). Shueisha’s Weekly Young Jump has been serializing the series since April 2020. The manga also inspired a live-action adaptation.

Dr. Goro is reborn as the son of the young starlet Ai Hoshino after her delusional stalker murders him. Now, he wants to help his new mother rise to the top, but what can a child do about the dark underbelly of the entertainment industry?
