The Oshi no Ko anime has made history by sweeping the Anime Corner Spring 2023 polls: it won first place in every category, the first-ever grand slam win. With its captivating characters, stunning animation, stellar voice acting, unique take on the idol genre, and just an overall high-quality production, it was no question that this series was adored by so many fans which made it the best anime of the season. The top 10 anime of the season results can be found below:
Aquamarine Hoshino and his voice actor Takeo Otsuka won the titles of Best Male Character and Best Male Seiyuu while Kana Arima ranked first in Best Female Character poll. Rie Takahashi, who voiced Ai Hoshino took the title of the Best Female Seiyuu. The opening and ending theme songs of the anime also placed first in their respective categories.
Oshi no Ko anime was always in the top two of the Anime Corner weekly charts and was even voted the most anticipated anime of Spring 2023. It aired from April to June with 11 episodes in total. Studio Doga Kobo (Shikimori’s Not Just a Cutie) animated the first season of the series with Daisuke Hiramaki (Selection Project) as director. A second season is currently in production.
