Paru Itagaki, the mangaka best known for the BEASTARS series, announced that she got married. She revealed that the food she shares in her dairy has been made by her now-husband for the past three years and that she hopes to continue making manga while using her husband’s food as “fuel.” Itagaki doesn’t appear in public without donning the giant chicken head so her chosen wedding photo was no exception:
In addition to the award-winning BEASTARS, Paru Itagaki, authored the currently-ongoing SANDA and a number of one-shots and short manga. Her most recent one-shot was Beast Complex: Kurohyou to Rakko, published in Bessatsu Shonen Champion in 2021. She also authored Drip Drip, an 8-chapter manga that ran in 2020 and 2021 in Manga Goraku.
Itagaki was born in 1993. Her first manga was Beast Complex, serialized from 2016 to 2021. She is known for using automorphic characters in her works. Her only work with an anime adaptation so far is BEASTARS. Studio Orange animated the adaptation that is streaming exclusively on Netflix. The third and final season is currently in the works. It’s worth noting that Itagai’s father is also a mangaka – Keisuke Itagaki, best known for the Grappler Baki series.
