Record of Ragnarok Season 2 revealed a new trailer ahead of the official premiere date of the first 10 episodes – January 26, 2023. Theme song by Minami is featured in the trailer:
The second season of the anime will stream on Netflix, as the anime is a Netflix exclusive. Studio Graphinica and Yumeta Company are animating it, under Masao Okubo’s direction. The same studios also worked on the first season of the anime, which is currently streaming on Netflix. The cast includes:
- Miyuki Sawashiro as Brünnhilde
- Yuichi Nakamura as Gautama Buddha
- Tomoyo Kurosawa as Göll
- Katsuyuki Konishi as Heracles
- Tomokazu Sugita as Jack the Ripper
- Subaru Kimura as Raiden
- Tatsuhisa Suzuki as Shiva
The latest trailer featured new characters and was revealed in August of last year.
Record of Ragnarok is based on a manga written by Shinya Umemura and Takumi Fukui, and illustrated by Ajichika. The manga has been serialized since 2017 in Coamix’s Monthly Comic Zenon magazine. Viz Media is publishing the manga in English and describes the plot as:
The valkyrie Brunhilde has convinced the gods to give humanity a chance at redemption through combat in the Valhalla arena. Seeking a quick end to the proceedings, the gods present their first fighter, Thor, the Norse god of thunder. Facing him is a warrior said to be the strongest in the history of mankind, the legendary general Lü Bu!
