SPY x FAMILY has revealed a new digest video of the anime so far (Season 1 + Season 2) as we anticipate news on Season 3 at the Jump Festa 2025 this weekend. As it goes through the anime so far, all its opening theme songs also follow the content.
The featured songs are “Mixed Nuts” by Official HIGE DANDism (Season 1 Cour 1), “Souvenir” by BUMP OF CHICKEN (Season 1 Cour 2), and “Kura Kura” by Ado (Season 2).
WIT Studio and CloverWorks are animating, with Crunchyroll recently streaming the anime worldwide. Kazuhiro Furuhashi (1999’s Hunter x Hunter) directed the anime so far, with Takahiro Harada starting as assistant director before becoming a co-director in the second season.
The first season aired over two parts in 2022 for a total of 25 episodes. The second one had 12 episodes, which were were released from October to December 2023. Season 3 was announced in June.
There is also the SPY x FAMILY Code: WHITE original movie, which was released in Japan in December 2023 and internationally in April 2024. Crunchyroll streams the first two TV anime seasons, as well as the movie.
The official synopsis for the anime:
World peace is at stake and secret agent <Twilight> (aka Loid Forger) must undergo his most difficult mission yet—pretend to be a family man. Posing as a loving husband and father, he’ll infiltrate an elite school to get close to a high-profile politician. He has the perfect cover, except his wife’s a deadly assassin and neither knows each other’s identity. But someone does, his adopted daughter who’s a telepath.

Tatsuya Endo’s SPY x FAMILY has been serialized on Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ since 2019, with the total copies exceeding 35 million back in March 2024 with its 13 volumes. It is currently on hiatus, with a new update to arrive on December 23.
