Veteran voice actress Rie Tanaka has announced a new music project titled Uz:ME with Swedish rock musicians Patrik Leonheart and Simon Andante. The project’s first single, “SEARCHLIGHT”, is set for release on February 25, 2021.

Tanaka is the main vocalist in the Uz:ME project, while Leonhart and Andante will be responsible for the instrumental, arrangement, and lyrical composition. The Swedish duo was part of a visual music band called BatAAR, which was formed in 2010 but disbanded in 2019.
“SEARCHLIGHT” is up for digital reservation on Apple Music, iTunes, Spotify, and Deezer.
Rie Tanaka rose to prominence with her role in the Mobile Suit Gundam Seed franchise as Lacus Clyne. She also voiced Chi in Chobits, Hikari Kujou and Shiny Luminous in Futari wa Pretty Cure Max Heart, Minna-Dietlinde Wilcke in Strike Witches, and Suigintou in Rozen Maiden.
In the more recent years, she also voiced Darya Nikitina in Dr. Stone, Treyni in That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime, Elinalise Dragonroad in Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation, and Kiriko Himeno in Idoly Pride. Tanaka also voiced several roles in video games, including Sesshoin Kiara in Fate/Extra and Fate/Grand Order, Murata Himeko in Honkai Impact 3rd, Mitsuru Kirijo in Persona 3, and Lisa in Genshin Impact.
