AnimeFesta has announced a Secret Mission anime adaptation, which is set to premiere this October. A visual has been released, with details on the cast and theme songs to be released on August 30.
Rabbit Gate is animating the series, which will be produced by Picante Circus. Saburo Miura is directing it, and will also handle the anime’s series composition and storyboard. LAZZ is doing the character designs and Hisayoshi Hirasawa is on the sound direction. Other staff members include Taiki Yamashita as the art director and Onidera as the director of photography.
The Secret Mission anime will be broadcast in two versions: the on-air version which airs on Tokyo MX and BS11, and the premium version which will be released on the AnimeFesta website.
The anime, with the full title Secret Mission ~Sennyū Sо̄sakan wa Zettai ni Makenai!~, is based on Mothica’s S** Is Part of Undercover Agents’ Job? (Motto Aeide! Sennyū Sо̄sakan wa S** mo Oshigoto desu) manga. It has been serialized on ComicFesta from 2018 to 2022.
The manga follows the story of Riko Ikazuchi and her junior counterpart, Noma who were tasked with infiltrating and monitoring an apartment which serves as a hideout for a criminal organization. To not raise suspicions, both investigators pretend that they are newlyweds. But when they overhear the criminals suspecting them of not being newlyweds, the pair take it a step further just to convince the criminals otherwise…
