The Sengoku Youko anime ended its first cour today after episode 13 and announced a July return date. As previously announced, the adaptation by studio WHITE FOX will run for three cours. Check out the new key visual:
The second and third cours of the Sengoku Youko anime will focus on The Chaos of a Thousand Demons arc. Kagetsu Aizawa is directing the anime with Jukki Hanada on the series composition. Yosuke Okuda is the character designer for the series and Evan Call is composing the music. The theme songs for the first cour were “Hibana” by MindaRyn and “Yuuyami” by KEIKO.
The anime will adapt the Sengoku Youko manga, which ran in Mag Garden’s Monthly Comic Blade from 2007 to 2014 and then on the Comic Blade web platform from 2014 to 2016. The reason for the move was the discontinuation of the magazine publication. It has a total of 100 chapters, compiled into 17 volumes.
Crunchyroll is streaming the anime and describes the plot as:
Humans and katawara are at war, but there are those on each side who join forces. Tama is a fox spirit who loves humans, while her sendou brother, Jinka, despises them. Together, they use the power of spirit transformation to defeat the monstrous katawara and put an end to the evils of this chaotic age. What destiny awaits the duo at the end of their journey?
