G Holdings announced on Friday, March 14, 2021, that it has acquired the rights to develop a new smartphone game based on the story of the Haikyu!! anime. The official account of 4Gamer, as well as the official English account of Haikyu!!, made the announcement on Twitter.
According to their post, the Haikyu!! smartphone game will have a story mode that will allow fans to relive the anime’s story. It will be a full-scale volleyball smartphone game and will use a Super-deformed art style (also known as chibi) for the characters. Although the game title and release date have not yet been announced for the smartphone game, more details will be revealed at a later date.

Even though the “Haikyu!!” manga ended in July 2020, the anime adaption by Production I.G. still has a lot of story arcs to cover. The most recent fourth season titled, “Haikyu!! To The Top” premiered last January 2020 and finished its split cour by December 2020.
As of writing, there is still no announcement for season 5. The Haikyu!! franchise includes manga, anime, animated compilation films, radio shows, a video game, and a live-action stage play. Haikyu!! is an anime adaption of the manga created by Haruichi Furudate. It follows Hinata Shoyo as he joins a volleyball club at Karasuno High School despite his short height. Together with the other club members, Hinata is out to prove that you don’t need to be tall to fly!
