Smoking Behind the Supermarket with You Reveals New Visual, Trailer, July 2026 Premiere Date

Smoking Behind the Supermarket with You revealed a new teaser visual, trailer, and a July 2026 premiere date on Friday. Asahi Productions is animating the series. The main voice cast was revealed last September, including Takuya Sato as Sasaki and Seena Hoshiki as Yamada / Tamaya.

Smoking Behind the Supermarket with You anime is based on a manga series that was initially launched as a webcomic published on Twitter in March 2022. Square Enix’s Monthly Big Gangan magazine serialized the title in August 2022.

Square Enix Manga & Books is also publishing it in English and they describe the first volume as follows:
An overworked salaryman and a mischievous cashier with a dual personality form an unexpected bond in this sweet-and-sour comedy!At age forty-five, office worker Sasaki has had enough of the corporate grind. His only solace is smoking-and the friendly smile of supermarket cashier Yamada. When Sasaki can’t find Yamada after a particularly trying day, a striking woman invites him to smoke with her. The despondent man thinks he’s made a new smoking buddy in the cool, teasing Tayama, but Sasaki doesn’t realize he already knows her!
