This collaboration brings together two series created by Atsushi Okubo. It was revealed that Soul Eater has an un-universe connection to Fire Force in the final chapters of the latter, with Soul Eater being set years after its events.

Atsushi Okubo created Soul Eater first, and the manga is complete with 113 chapters compiled into 25 volumes. It was serialized in Square Enix’s Monthly Shonen Gangan magazine from May 2004 to August 2013. It also has a 51-episode anime adaptation by Bones, which ran in 2008-2009. It’s streaming on Crunchyroll, while Yen Press licensed the manga in English. The series celebrated its 20th anniversary last year.

His Fire Force manga ran in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine from September 2015 to February 2022, ending with a total of 304 chapters and 34 volumes. Its anime adaptation is animated by David Production, with Season 3 set to conclude the story over two split cours (April 2025 and January 2026). Crunchyroll is streaming the anime, while Kodansha USA licensed the manga in English.
