Yukiko Nozawa, artist of The 100 Girlfriends Who Really, Really, Really, Really, Really Love You, announced that the manga series will temporarily adjust its serialization schedule due to her pregnancy and upcoming maternity leave.
In a message shared on February 19, Nozawa revealed that after a hospitalization and break from drawing illustrations last year, she soon learned she was pregnant. As it was her first pregnancy and the circumstances were uncertain, she chose to wait until reaching a stable stage before making the news public. She apologized for the concern caused during her earlier break and thanked readers for their continued support.
The serialization will slow down for a period of time. Nozawa stated that several manuscripts have already been prepared in advance for maternity leave, with specific publication timing to be announced through the series’ official account. The goal is to gradually return to a weekly schedule while prioritizing her health.
Volume 25 has already been completed, and its release date will be announced at a later date. Work on Volume 26 and beyond will continue in coordination with the editorial department while monitoring her condition. She also confirmed that anime-related supervision work [for the upcoming Season 3] is proceeding smoothly with the cooperation of all involved.
In her message, Nozawa says she regrets keeping the fans waiting but she hopes to return in full health while embracing pregnancy, childbirth, and parenting. She also thanked the manga’s co-creator Rikito Nakamura (story) and the editorial staff for their support.
The 100 Girlfriends Who Really, Really, Really, Really, Really Love You anime was previously officially certified by Guinness World Records for featuring the longest monologue in a Japanese-language animation.
