Episode 10 of the rom-com series, The Duke of Death and His Maid, finally premiered, and we’ll get to see Alice’s past as well as how hard it is for a maid to fall in love with her master! Also, please be aware of spoiler-filled content.
This week’s episode was a complete ride of romance! It had its fair share of adorable, lovely teasing and a grave matter of discussion. Alice and Bocchan are still of different social statuses. Thus it’s unclear whether they can pursue their relationship.
Alice and Her Mom
At the start, we get to see young, adorable Alice, along with her Mom wandering around the Duke’s mansion. Little Alice was wandering around the hall when her mom suddenly hugged her!
And who knew that the reason why little Alice went outside her room was to see the Duke! And when the two met, they’re just too adorable!
A Night With Alice
Bocchan was unable to sleep when Alice immediately suggested staying with him for the night. Without even a glance, Bocchan ended up lying in the same bed with Alice.
As usual, Alice loves teasing Bocchan so much that he imagined her as a very lovely succubus! But enough with the naughty pranks and let’s get into the romance. Despite everything that happened, Bocchan still aims to remove his curse and reunite with his family.
It sure sounds nice for him to accomplish his goal, although their relationship is at stake. Remember that Bocchan is still the duke and the upcoming heir of the family; thus, he has a higher status than his maid Alice. And having a relationship with a maid as an heir can be quite complicated.
Social Boundaries
After hearing how determined Bocchan is to marrying Alice, she felt sad and flustered at the same time. She felt sad for how cruel reality and society can be – that there stands a social boundary between her and Bocchan. She also felt flustered because her feelings for Bocchan are indeed pure.
Alice asked for Rob’s advice in the middle of the night on handling their relationship when the time comes for Bocchan to come home. We also get to see how Rob recruited Alice just so that Bocchan will have somebody to talk with.
She ended up changing Bocchan’s life and personality under the thick, white snow. Back to Rob’s advice – all that he could say is that it is indeed a pure relationship between them. It is something far purer than love, for it is fate.
