Preview images for episode 1 of The Maid I Hired Recently Is Mysterious have been released. The anime will premiere in Japan on July 23. Studios Silver Link and Blade are animating the series.
The first episode will introduce us to the main characters Yuuri and Lilith. Yuuri has been living alone in their mansion, having lost both of his parents in a car accident. One day, maid named Lilith appeared in Yuuri’s mansion one day to offer her services as a maid.
While Lilith is performing the maid duties at no cost and is working diligently, Yuuri is suspicious of her polite demeanor. As a result, he observes the maid’s actions and tries to get to the bottom of it.
Misuzu Hoshino is directing the series, and Mirai Minato is serving as the chief director and handling the scripts. The opening theme is titled “I Don’t Like It!” performed by J-pop idol group ≠ME, while the ending theme is titled “Two in the Secret Garden” by Yui Horie. The anime is based on the manga series by Wakame Konbu, which began serialization in Square Enix’s Monthly Gangan Joker magazine in January 2020.
Yen Press is publishing it in English, and they describe the plot as:
There’s something really strange about the maid I just hired! No normal person could be so beautiful, or cook such amazingly delicious food, or know exactly what I want before I even ask. She must be using magic—right, a spell is the only thing that can explain why my chest feels so tight whenever I look at her. I swear, I’m going to get to the bottom of what makes this maid so…mysterious!
