Voice actress Tomori Kusunoki is joining the cast of the upcoming Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead anime as Shizuka Mikazuki. It was previously announced that Shuichiro Umeda is voicing the main character Akira Tendo.
Shizuka Mikazuki is described as a 26-year old adult working for a foreign financial company. Being a logical person, she even made a list of one hundred things to do to avoid being a zombie, as they try to survive a zombie apocalypse.
This is the latest addition to Kusunoki’s roles, despite recently dropping out of the Love Live franchise due to health issues. She was recently diagnosed with Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (EDS), which makes it difficult to have continuous live activities.
Some of her recent roles this year include Annette in Spy Classroom, Lieselotte Riefenstahl in Endo and Kobayashi Live! The Latest on Tsundere Villainess Lieselotte, Leone Olfa in Reborn to Master the Blade: From Hero-King to Extraordinary Squire, and Terakomari Gandesblood in The Vexations of a Shut-In Vampire Princess.
The Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead anime is animated by studio BUG FILMS, under the direction of Kazuki Kawagoe. It is based on a manga written by Haro Aso and illustrated by Kotaro Takata. The serialization has been ongoing since 2019 in Shogakukan’s Monthly Sunday Gene-X magazine.
Viz Media is publishing the manga in English and describes the plot as:
In a trash-filled apartment, 24-year-old Akira Tendo watches a zombie movie with lifeless, envious eyes. After spending three hard years at an exploitative corporation in Japan, his spirit is broken. He can’t even muster the courage to confess his feelings to his beautiful co-worker Ohtori. Then one morning, he stumbles upon his landlord eating lunch—which happens to be another tenant! The whole city’s swarming with zombies, and even though he’s running for his life, Akira has never felt more alive!
