TOUGEN ANKI Season 2, titled the Nikko Kegon Falls Arc, revealed a new key visual, trailer, cast, and October 2, 2026 premiere. The sequel was officially announced after Season 1’s final Episode 24, while the anime previously introduced members of the Oni Brigade. Ato Nonaka directs the anime at Studio HIBARI, with Yukie Sugawara handling series composition and the screenplay.
The newly announced cast members are:
- Kenichi Suzumura as Kusabi Momoura, chief of the Momotaro Agency’s Kegon Falls Branch Laboratory
- Yuki Kaji as Hizumi Momotsugi, the laboratory’s 10th Unit Captain
- Kisho Taniyama as Senritsu Momoo, the laboratory’s 3rd Unit Vice-Captain
The new arc will follow Shiki and his fellow Rasetsu Academy students as they travel to Nikko after Yaoroshi leaves the academy to join the Oni Brigade. Their destination is a research facility built near Kegon Falls, where experiments involving Oni are taking place.
Hiromitsu Kitayama performs the opening theme “BACKLASH,” while TRACK15 performs the ending theme “Hand in Hand.” You can watch the new trailer below.
Two special recap episodes will air ahead of the premiere, covering the Kyoto Arc on September 30 and the Nerima Arc on October 1. Also check out the new key visual.
Yura Urushibara writes and draws the TOUGEN ANKI manga series, which has been serialized in AKITASHOTEN’s Weekly Shonen Champion magazine since 2020. The manga has sold over 4 million copies in Japan so far.
The anime is directed by Ato Nonaka, with Hiroyuki Hashimoto serving as assistant director. The series composition and script are handled by Yukie Sugawara, while Ryoko Amisaki is in charge of character design. The music for the anime is composed by KOHTA YAMAMOTO and produced by PONY CANYON.
We previously spoke with the main voice cast of TOUGEN ANKI ahead of its premiere, which includes Kazuki Ura (Shiki Ichinose), Hiroshi Kamiya (Naito Mudano), and Koutaro Nishiyama (Jin Kogasaki). Since then, the cast has grown to also feature Aimi as Kuina Sazanami, Kaito Miura as Rokuro Kiriyama, Natsuki Hanae as Jyuji Yusurube, Shogo Sakata as Ikari Yaoroshi, and Manaka Iwami as Homare Byoubugaura.
