Uma Musume: Cinderella Gray anime revealed the main trailer, a new key visual, additional voice cast, along with an April 6 premiere date. The anime is adapting the spin-off manga starring Oguri Cap as the main protagonist. CygamesPictures is animating, with Yuki Ito as the director. As previously confirmed, the anime will run for two split cours.
The new trailer features the opening song “Koeru” (“Overcome”) by Japanese rock band Alexandros. This is the first time for an Uma Musume anime to have an external artist perform a theme song. Previously, all the songs were performed by the in-universe idol groups formed by the characters.
The main cast was revealed with the teaser trailer, while the new additions include:
- Hochu Otsuka as Ginjiro Mutsuhira
- Ayano Shibuya as Norn Ace
- You Taichi as Rudy Lemono
- Shiori Izawa as Mini the Lady
- Azusa Tadokoro as Symboli Rudolf
- Lynn as Maruzensky
- Yurina Amami as Mr. CB
Tomoyo Takayanagi is voicing Oguri Cap, while the main voice cast includes:
- Momoko Seto as Belno Light
- Mariya Ise as Fujimasa March
- Katsuyuki Konishi as Kitahara Jo
- Naomi Ozora as Tamamo Cross
Besides Yuki Ito as the director, the rest of the main staff includes Aki Kindaichi in charge of the series composition, with Takuya Miyahara and Keigo Sasaki as the character designers. You can see the new visual for the anime below.
The Uma Musume: Pretty Derby game launched for iOS and Android on February 24, 2021 and for PC on March 10, 2021. Besides the TV anime (the 3rd season finished airing in 2023) and the Umayon short-form anime, there are also the Uma Musume Pretty Derby: Road to the Top web anime project which ran for 4 episodes in October 2022 and the Uma Musume Pretty Derby: Beginning of a New Era movie which premiered this year.
