Vivy: Fluorite Eye’s Song released episode 6 this Saturday, and it was another beautiful episode, albeit filled with suffering and tragedy. We started with a memory of doctor Tatsuya meeting the Grace AI as a child, before getting back to the Metal Float island after the virus failed to shut it down. Vivy saved Kakitani Yugo again, and he said that they played right into Saeki’s hands. Matsumoto and Vivy headed to them, and the Toak member did end up helping Vivy when one of the bots caught her.
When they got to Saeki, he explained his real goal. Grace was integrated into the island to run it, and he wanted to transfer the data into another body. The thing that triggered the high expectations of the Sisters AIs was none other than the Sunrise incident. Estella’s actions, with Vivy onboard, had indirectly ruined Saeki’s proposal day, which is when he heard about it. Grace was one of the most promising Sisters, and their happy future was stopped before it even began. He also played the ‘Sing My Pleasure’ song to them, though it was an eerie, choppy version.
Vivy still decided it was best to destroy Grace as Matsumoto explained that it was impossible to save the data. She even made a point of her name being Vivy, saying she’s an AI that will destroy other AIs to change the future. Then she one-shot K-5 and headed out, leaving the doctor behind.
Matsumoto called Vivy by her name (instead of Diva), and managed to create a transportation vehicle of a sort. Then we got the ‘Sing My Pleasure’ song as the two flew to Grace. There was a temporary break as we saw Dr. Saeki’s memories again, but the song continued after he sent them the route to the core. Once there, Vivy destroyed Grace’s body, and the Metal Float was shut down. When she went to Dr. Saeki, she wished him the best for the future, but it was hopeless. He explained that he had nothing without Grace, and he shot himself right in front of Vivy. The beloved AI already had a hard time destroying Grace, and now she also had to witness this, which caused her to malfunction as the episode ended.
