Voltes V: Legacy Releases Japanese Dub Trailer, Voice Cast for Theatrical Cut

Voltes V: Legacy, the Filipino live-action adaptation based on the Voltes V series, has revealed its Japanese voice cast along with a Japanese dub trailer. The new theatrical cut is set to premiere in Japan on October 18.

The Japanese dub cast for Voltes V includes:

  • Yamato Kinjo as Mark Gordon
  • Megumi Nakajima as Jamie Robinson
  • Chiaki Kobayashi as Steve Armstrong
  • Hiroyuki Kagura as Big Bert Armstrong
  • Makoto Koichi as Little Jon Armstrong
  • Kosuke Echigoya as Zuhl
  • Riho Iida as Zandra
  • Junichi Suwabe as Prince Zardoz
  • Yusaku Hiyama as Draco

The Japanese theatrical cut, titled Voltes V: Legacy – Ultra Electromagnetic Edition, will feature scenes that were excluded from Voltes V: Legacy – The Cinematic Experience, a Filipino theatrical cut of the series which premiered on April 19, 2023. The Filipino theatrical cut featured the first 15 episodes of the live-action series.

Voltes V: Legacy aired for 90 episodes from May to September 2023 under the direction of Mark A. Reyes V. Aloy Adlawan served as creative director, with scriptwriting by Suzette Doctolero, Loi Nova, Libay Trinidad, and Jake Somera. GMA Network aired the series, which is also available on its in-house streaming service.

The synopsis is as follows:
Voltes V: Legacy follows the story of three brothers, Steve, Big Bert, and Little Jon Armstrong, and their friends Jamie Robinson and Mark Gordon, as they fight the forces of humanoid aliens known as Boazanians who plans to invade the earth and launch their beast fighters all over the world.

Voltes V: Legacy live-action series is based on the Chodenji Machine Voltes V anime, produced by Toei Company and animated by Sunrise. The original series is the second installment of the Robot Romance Trilogy, which also includes Chodenji Robo Combattler V and Tosho Daimos. It aired on TV Asahi from June 4, 1977, to March 25, 1978.  Tadao Nagahama directed the series, while Yoshiyuki Tomino oversaw the production.
