What's in Store for Genshin Impact in 2.1 Update?

Genshin Impact Version 2.1 is just around the corner, and as always a special stream revealed details about the upcoming version. The version update is titled Floating World Under the Moonlight. If you finished the current storyline, you have nothing to worry about, but if you’re still behind beware of the spoilers.

The English voice actor for the game hosted the stream. Zach Aguliar (Aether), Sarah Miller-Crews (Lumine), Stephanie Southerland (Jean), Laura Stahl (Barbara), Kelly Baskin (Amber), and Josey Montana McCoy (Kaeya) were all present to discuss the upcoming continuation of the story and the Moonshine Festival, which will take in the second half of the update.

The trailer for the Genshin Impact 2.1 version hints at the continuation of the fight against Raiden Shogun and her army, but the Fatui are also present. La Signora and Scaramouche will be making an appearance, and it seems like a fight with La Signora is in the store. Yae is also playing a part in the upcoming story quest, and it seems like she wants to help us. From the looks of it, Kazuha might get a chance to clash swords with the Shogun.

The Moonshine Festival will feature some old regulars from Liyue. Xiangling, Ningguang, Keqing, and Yanfei are making an appearance in a festival dedicated to finding the tastiest dish. Paimon’s in for a treat!

Bonus for Scaramouche fans: we’ll get to learn about his origin.

Playable Characters

Raiden Shogun

As speculated, Raiden Shogun – Baal, will be a playable character in this update. She’ll appear on the first Event Banner, which will launch on August 31 or September 1st, depending on your time zone.

Sangonomiya Kokomi

Sangonomiya Kokomi is a second 5* in the 2.1 Genshin Impact update. We already met her, at the end of the last Archon Quest. Her kit appears to be similar to Barbara since she heals, but her ult buffs her attacks. She’s also currently unique, since one of her passives lowers her crit rate by 100%, making crit rate and crit damage artifacts useless on her.

Kujou Sara

In addition to the Raiden Shogun and Kokomi, Kujou Sara, whom we also met in the Archon Quest is going to be a new playable character. Sara is a 4* support character, who buffs her teammates and restores energy for them.

New Weapons

Engulfing Lightning

The 5* spear appears to be Raiden Shongun’s signature weapon.

Everlasting Moonlight

The new 5* catalyst is probably one of the most beautiful weapons in the game so far, and it will probably work well with Kokomi’s kit.

Two 4* weapons – The Catch (spear) and Luxurious Sea-Lord (claymore) are also coming.

New Areas

Watatsumi Island is a headquarters for the Resistance forces, which is located a bit further from the other islands. It has a unique scenery

Seirai Island

Seirai Island appears to be abandoned, engulfed in a storm. The island also has an abandoned shrine.

Story Quests

Other than the continuation of the Archon Quest, we’ll also be getting a special quest dedicated to Baal, as well as Kokomi.

Genshin Impact 2.1 – New Weekly Boss + New World Bosses

La Signora

The ever-present La Signora is finally becoming a weekly boss. She appears to be using a Cryo vision, with a Pyro delusion.

Electro Oceanid

Brace yourselves, Electro Oceanid is here. Seems like Baal and Sara will use her drops as ascension materials. (Please, don’t put it in the Abyss)

Hydro Hypostasis

Inazuma is already home to Pyro Cube, so it’s not all that surprising that we’re also getting a Hydro one, especially with Kokomi coming. The new enemy appears to have some interesting attacks.
