Whisper Me a Love Song anime announced a delay of episodes 9 and 10 by two weeks earlier today. Episode 8 aired today in Japan but its streaming release on the HIDIVE platform was slightly delayed and will now drop at 10:30 PM ET (or 2:30 AM UTC). No official reason for the delay was given and the time slots will be filled by recap episodes. Episodes 9 and 10 will now air on June 22 and 29, while the final two episodes (10 and 12) will get a new release date in the future. The Summer 2024 anime season begins in July.
This is not the first delay for the Whisper Me a Love Song (Sasakoi) anime: it was initially slated to premiere in January of this year, but the premiere date was pushed to April. Studios Cloud Hearts and Yokohama Animation Laboratory are animating the series under Akira Mano’s direction. Mano replaced the original director Xin Ya Cai, who had to step down due to health issues.
The cast for the anime includes:
- Hana Shimano as Himari Kino
- Asami Seto plays as Yori Asanagi
- Mikako Komatsu as Aki Mizuguchi
- Konomi Kohara as Mari Tsuitsui
- Ai Kakuma as Kaori Tachibana
- Yuna Nemoto as Shiho Izumi
- Reina Ueda as Momoka Satomiya
- Chika Anzai as Hajime Amasawa
- Aoi Koga as Miki Mizuguchi
The anime is adapting the manga written and illustrated by Eku Takeshima. HIDIVE describes the plot as:
After performing a song at her school’s opening ceremony, musician Yori Asanagi receives an apparent love confession from freshman Himari Kino. But just as Yori decides she wants to return Himari’s feelings, Himari reveals that she did not “love” her, but “admires” her! But you can’t unring a bell once struck, and Yori is determined to make Himari fall for her, not just her music. Will their hearts ever beat as one, or will their love fall out of tune?
