Kei Sazane wrote the Why Does Nobody Remember Me in This World (Naze Boku no Sekai wo Daremo Oboeteinai no ka?) light novel series, which has illustrations by neco. It was serialized under Media Factory’s MF Bunko J imprint from July 2017 to August 2020. There is also a manga adaptation by Arikan, which is currently ongoing in the publisher’s Monthly Comic Alive magazine.
BookWalker licensed the manga in English, while Crunchyrol is streaming the anime. Crunchyroll describes the story:
In a world where humans triumphed in a great war, Kai guards sealed crypts containing their enemies. But when “World Rebirth” overwrites history, he’s thrust into an alternate reality where humanity lost the war and he’s been forgotten by everyone he knows. Now, this lost hero must rise to restore the world’s balance!
