Winter 2025 is just around the corner, and it will be bringing along some awesome anime sequels. We previously wrote about promising new shows of the season.
Note that the below are not all the anime sequels coming, nor are they ranked. If you want to share what you are most excited for, our Winter 2025 anticipated polls are still open for voting.
Now let’s a take a look at some of the most interesting anime sequels coming next season!
Solo Leveling Season 2 -Arise From the Shadow-
Starting off with Solo Leveling Season 2 -Arise from the Shadow- as it is definitely one of the most exciting anime sequels coming in Winter 2025. Studio A-1 Pictures is animating, and the first season aired exactly a year ago from January 7 to March 31, 2024. It was voted as the best new anime of Winter 2024.
The first two episodes of the sequel already premiered as part of the ReAwakening movie, which began showing in theaters in November. Studio A-1 Pictures is again animating, with Crunchyroll streaming the anime outside Japan.
The anime is headed into the more serious part of the story with Jinwoo now already ridiculously strong, and it’s time to see what the deal is with Jeju Island. The latest trailer previewed both the opening theme song “ReawakeR” by LiSA and ending theme “UN-APEX” by TK From Ling Tosite Sigure. The anime has Hiroyuki Sawano as the music composer.
The Apothecary Diaries Season 2
The Apothecary Diaries Season 2 anime will premiere on January 10, 2025, with studios OLM and TOHO Animation returning to animate. Just like the first season that aired for two cours from October 2023 to March 2024, the sequel will also run for two consecutive cours.
Norihiro Naganuma is returning to direct Season 2 with the same staff. The latest trailer previewed the opening theme song “Hyakka Ryoran” by Lilas Ikuta from YOASOBI. Crunchyroll will be streaming the anime as part of their Winter 2025 anime lineup.
Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- Season 3
Returning for its second straight season, Re:ZERO Season 3 is set to begin Part 2 titled “Counterattack Arc” on February 5, 2025. Studio WHITE FOX is animating, and the season is set to run for a total of 16 seasons divided equally among the cours. The first one aired from October 2 to November 20, 2024. Crunchyroll will continue to stream the sequel.

Dr. STONE: SCIENCE FUTURE (Season 4)
The fourth and final season of Dr. STONE titled Dr. STONE: SCIENCE FUTURE is also one of the anime sequels coming in Winter 2025. Studio TMS Entertainment is animating, and the first of 3 split cours will premiere on January 9, 2025. This is coming a bit over a year since Senku’s clash against Ibara concluded in December 2023.
Kenji Nojima has joined the voice cast as Dr. Xeno Houston Wingfield, with Koji Yusa as Stanley Snyder. The two villains will be appearing in the new season, and Senku will finally face another scientist. Crunchyroll confirmed they will stream the anime, while Netflix will stream it in Asia.
My Happy Marriage Season 2
Miyo and Kiyoka are also coming back in Winter 2025 in My Happy Marriage Season 2. The romcom has seen Miyo go through a lot, but it seems like she’s finally stable with Kiyoka by her side. Studio Kinema Citrus is again animating, with the premiere date set for January 6, 2025.
Before heading into the sequel, you should watch the Episode 13 OVA titled “My Shape of Happiness.” It is streaming on Netflix and is set right between the two seasons. Netflix will also be streaming the sequel.
Haruka Tomatsu was announced as the voice of a new character, Kaoruko Jinnochi. The latest trailer features the opening song “A Happy Promise” by Riria.
Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun Season 2
Now for the biggest returner of the Winter 2025 anime sequels, Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun Season 2! Hanako-kun is coming back with another TV anime season exactly 5 years since Season 1, which aired from January to March 2020.
Although it had the two 4-episode seasons of After-School Hanako-kun in 2023 and 2024, this will be the return to the main story.
The Three Clock Keepers were teased to be central to the story of the sequel, and they are the first of the Seven Mysteries of Kamome Gakuen.
The 100 Girlfriends Who Really Love You Season 2
Of course, can’t forget the peak romantic comedy, The 100 Girlfriends Who Really, Really, Really, Really, REALLY Love You Season 2. Rentaro is coming back, with 4 to 5 new girlfriends already teased through the promotional materials. He is currently at 6 after Hakari’s mother Hahari joined.
Studio Bibury Animation Studios is again animating, and the anime sequel will premiere on January 12, 2025. Crunchyroll will be streaming it as part of their Winter 2025 anime lineup.
