Wistoria: Wand and Sword anime has released a climax visual and trailer following the release of Episode 10 in Japan. Studios Actas and Bandai Namco Pictures are animating, and the anime is set to run for a total of 12 episodes.
The climax trailer features most of the action scenes from the show so far, with the opening theme song “Fire and Fear” by Penguin Research playing in the background.
The visual stars Will, with the rest of his party reflected on his sword.
Wistoria: Wand and Sword is directed by Tatsuya Yoshihara and is widely considered one of the most underestimated shows of the season. We got the chance to speak with the show’s producer, who praised its staff as the ‘greatest to ever assemble.’
The anime is based on the manga written by Fujino Omori (also the author of Danmachi) and illustrated by Toshi Aoi. The series began publication in Bessatsu Shonen Magazine on December 9, 2020, and has published 10 volumes so far. Kodansha USA licensed it in English, while Crunchyroll is streaming the anime.
The story follows Will, a ‘talentless’ boy without magic as he strives to reach the top through a magic academy. His goal is to become one of the top mages, Magia Vander, and join his childhood friend Elfaria at the top of the tower. Bullied and underestimated, he will have to use his physical abilities and tactics to defeat his opponents and get enough credits for a shot at his dream.
