The preview trailer for Wistoria: Wand and Sword episode 5 titled “Raise the Starting Pistol” was revealed on Sunday. The action-fantasy series is animated by studios Actas and Bandai Namco Pictures. Next week’s episode will begin the Grand Magic Festival to see where constants will land (similar to Black Clover‘s selection exam). Initially having no interest in going back to the festival, Will decides to partake after recent events in episode 4. Can Will make a lasting impression this time around? We’re just going to have to wait and see!
Tatsuya Yoshihara (Black Clover) is directing Wistoria: Wand and Sword while also handling the script and series composition. Yuki Maeda (Black Clover) is the art director for the series while Sayaka Ono (Heavy Metal Dark Fantasy) is working as the character designer and animation director. Naomi Nakano (Solo Leveling) is the color designer for the series while Yuki Hayashi (Haikyu!, My Hero Academia) is composing the music.

Wistoria: Wand and Sword episode 5 will release on August 10, 2024. Crunchyroll is streaming the anime with English subtitles.
Wistoria: Wand and Sword Manga
The anime is based on the manga written by Fujino Omori and illustrated by Toshi Aoi. The series began publication in Bessatsu Shonen Magazine on December 9, 2020, and has since published 10 volumes, seven in English under Kodansha USA. The Wistoria: Wand and Sword manga has over 800,000 copies in circulation as of July 2024. Omori is also the creator of the widely popular light novel series DanMachi (Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon), whose anime will enter its fifth season this fall.
