YAIBA: Samurai Legend anime by WIT Studio has revealed a new key visual and cast, along with the main trailer featuring the opening theme song by BLUE ENCONT. The anime will premiere on April 5.
The new cast additions include:
- Takeharu Onishi as Gerozaemon Geroda
- Shuhei Sakaguchi as Mr. Spider
- Kana Ichinose as Mr. Sea Cucumber
- Go Inoue as Kojiro Sasaki

The project was confirmed to be a full adaptation. The opening theme song by BLUE ENCONT is titled “BLADE,” and you can hear it in new trailer below.

Background
YAIBA (stylized as Y∀IBA) is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by the veteran Gosho Aoyama, who is also known as the creator of Magic Kaito and Case Closed/Detective Conan. The manga was serialized in Shogakukan’s Weekly Shonen Sunday from September 1988 to December 1993. Its first anime adaptation was animated by studio Pastel and ran for 52 episodes from April 1993 to April 1994.
The story follows Yaiba Kurogane, a young man who unexpectedly returns to Japan after training in the jungle to become a true samurai. He begins living with the Mine family, and an ancient power awakens following his clash with a skilled kendo practictioner, Takeshi Onimaru.
