Yu-Gi-Oh! is a globally popular franchise that first began as a manga series by Kazuki Takahashi in 1996. It revolves around games, with a particular focus on the Duel Monsters trading card game. The story follows Yugi Muto, who solves an ancient Egyptian puzzle known as the Millennium Puzzle, which unleashes the spirit of a mysterious Pharaoh. They then have all kinds of card battles and other games to protect their friends and uncover the mystery behind Pharaoh’s lost memories.
The franchise has since become an iconic trading card game (Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG/OCG), multiple anime series (including Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters, GX, 5D’s, ZEXAL, ARC-V, and more), video games, and movies. In related news, a remaster of the anime Yu-Gi-Oh Duel Monsters GX was also recently announced for April 2025.
