Zenless Zone Zero has confirmed that Version 2.8, titled “New: Eridan Sunset,” will launch on May 6, 2026. The update will mark the final chapter of Season 2 and introduce new characters, gameplay mechanics, and story. The previous update launched on March 24.
Alongside the update, HoYoverse also announced that the game will be released on Steam in the near future, with cross-platform data compatibility. The Steam page is now live, allowing players to wishlist the title ahead of launch.
Version 2.8 will introduce two new S-Rank agents. Promeia, an Ice Anomaly agent, specializes in triggering Abloom effects and can automatically perform Perfect Dodges during combat. Starlight – Billy, an upgraded version of Billy, is a Physical Rupture agent focused on high burst damage. Both characters will debut alongside reruns of Lucia and Orphie & Magus.
The update also adds a new Wind attribute enemy type and a Vortex combat mechanic. When Wind-based anomalies are combined with other attributes, they trigger area-of-effect damage instead of standard Disorder effects, expanding combat strategy options.
New content includes events such as “Marcel Bootopia,” where players explore a Bangboo resort island, rescue characters, and collect rewards, as well as “Ultimate Verdict Trial,” which features Promeia as a playable ally.
Additional updates include a new outfit for Hoshimi Miyabi titled “Dignified Blossom,” system optimizations like a Polychrome Guide to track rewards, and improved resource management tools.
The update will be available on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, iOS, and Android.
Zenless Zone Zero is HoYoverse’s urban fantasy action RPG set in New Eridu, where players take on the role of a Proxy navigating a world affected by the Hollows.
