Horimiya Episode 6: Miyamura Gets A Haircut

Horimiya released episode 6 today, and it’s a either a perfect watch or something to steer away from considering it’s Valentine’s Day. We got to see more of Hori’s dad as he bonded with Miyamura (semi against his will) and was as silly as usual. Then again, he seems to be the kind of dad who worries from the background as he seemed happy when Miyamura said he liked Hori for her personality (not judging by appearances). They bathed and slept together in the same room, and Kyosuke even offered to walk them to school:

Right as they walked out, some students from their school saw them. It got everyone talking about them, and most of the comments were insulting Miyamura. It’s obviously not surprising from highschoolers, but it still felt bad seeing the lack of care they had. We saw best boy Tooru getting mad on their behalf and even trying to comfort his friend, but it still bothered Miyamura. So he decided to change his image, and shocked everyone the next day.

Reactions were varied, and some were shocked more than others. Still, it was hard for Hori to endure the attention Miyamura was getting from other girls. She exhibited an extremely cold aura, and reminded us of how jealous she can be. Miyamura did show his own jealous side though. He competed with the new stalker girl Sawada Honoka, even getting desperate at one point. Still, he’s the boyfriend so it’s kind of an unfair matchup, though it was fun to watch.

In case you’re somehow here without knowing what it is, read the story and maybe give it a shot:

Kyouko and Izumi are two classmates who each lead a double life: the popular and talented Kyouko cares for her little brother by herself while her parents are away, and the quiet, bespectacled Izumi hides his many piercings and tattoos at school. After accidentally discovering each other’s secrets the pair becomes fast friends, and together, they begin to navigate their new relationship together amongst unknowing peers and love rivals alike.
