The scene also left some anime-only watchers confused, while the manga readers had anticipated it. Beware of the upcoming spoilers in case you prefer to be completely surprised by the post-credit scene when the movie is available in your country.

What Is the New Post-Credit Scene in Attack on Titan: THE LAST ATTACK?

The new post-credit scene of the Attack on Titan: THE LAST ATTACK movie is set in a modern world, featuring the Attack on School Castes scene at the theater. It features three childhood friends (modern-day versions of Eren, Mikasa and Armin) watching the Attack on Titan movie at the cinema. They discuss it and agree they all enjoyed watching it. A janitor Levi version with incredible cleaning skills also appears.

It’s definitely a nice bonus and a must-watch for any fan of the franchise, especially because it canonizes the possibility that Attack on School Castes is set in the same timeline/universe as the story, just way later in the future.

In case you watched the movie and were confused, Attack on School Castes is a series of ‘fake’ scenarios which were published in the volumes of Attack on Titan from Volume 21 to Volume 34. They follow the adventures of Eren and his friends as regular high school students. Kodansha USA licensed the manga in English.

Here’s how all the characters are described in their introductions, along with their nicknames:

  • Eren: Nothing in particular / The Regular Person – Not part of the popular crowd or the nerds. No dreams or ambitions.
  • Mikasa: Occult Lover – The Goth trying to figure out a curse she can use to repel Jean, who won’t stop bothering her.
  • Armin: Otaku / The Geek – A PC-obsessed anime lover.
  • Jean: Delinquent / The Bad Boy – Acts bad because he thinks it’ll get him girls.
  • Sasha: Weird Girl / The Floater – Isn’t really able to differentiate between things she can and can’t eat.
  • Connie: Idiot / The Slacker
  • Marco: Homework-obsessed Nerd / The Brain – Otaku buddies with Armin.
  • Annie: Delinquent / Bad Girl – Finds it extremely unpleasant that people consider her and Jean to be in the same category.
  • Hitch: Hanger-on / The Wannabe – Wants to become friends with Historia and leech off her popularity.
  • Marlowe: The Prep – Tries to get everyone he sees to help his charitable and political causes.
  • Bertolt: Gofer / The Messenger – Used by Reiner.
  • Reiner: The School’s King / The Jock – Popular at school, but somewhat lacking in tact.
  • Historia: The School’s Queen / The Queen Bee – The daughter of socialites who has never had to want for anything. Bored with her school life.
Ymir: The Pleaser – Spoils Historia in hopes of making herself seem indispensable.
  • Erwin: History Teacher – While he’s a regular history teacher, he sometimes laughs when regular people wouldn’t.
  • Levi: Janitor – Most fear him because of the rumor that he was once an important figure in the underworld.
  • Hange: Chemistry Teacher – Has a habit of being driven by curiosity to break the law.

The goth Mikasa and otaku Armin versions already made short cameo appearances in the Attack on Titan anime, and it was back when Gabi shot Eren in Episode 78. You can see what they look like below.
