Black Clover keeps getting better as we get to the end, and episode 166 was no different! Starting off with Noelle’s side, we saw Nero fail to seal Vanica and them getting destroyed after Megicula made an appearance. Although Noelle managed to gather some more power, it ultimately only resulted in Vanica asking for her name as a compensation prize. Still, there’s probably a way for them to live through it, and I can only think of the mysterious person with the Black Bulls mantle.
The best part came after shifting to Yami’s fight with Dante. We saw the captain managing to hold back the Devil, while Asta was lying on the side unable to get up. The captain eventually had to surpass his limit in front of his squad, and he did so right after he seemed to have lost. Debuting his new skill “Death Thrust”, caught Dante completely off guard and shot a hole through him.
However, as it usually goes, that was not enough to win and Dante just got way stronger. After utilizing more of his devil power and growing several times bigger, things changed. From that point on, Yami’s new skill was barely helpful and he realized that he can’t win alone. That’s when one of the most epic scenes so far happened, as he called Asta by his name and told him he can’t win without him. That got Asta to push through and finally manage to get up, and we got to see one of our favorite manga panels animated:

The anime started back in February 2015 and will end on March 30, 2021. Following the release of episode 166, it means Black Clover will have 4 more episodes! There will also be an announcement at the end. We might get something interesting there too!
