My Hero Academia Episode 89: Class 1-A is Back!

My Hero Academia is finally back with Season 5, and the first episode 0 (or episode 89 total) served as a sort of a reminder of where we left off. Remembering Endeavor’s epic fight against the Nomu, we got to Aizawa telling his class that they’ll be doing a fake villain exercise. They all put on their hero costumes and head out, not exactly knowing what the exercise would be like.

Who better to play the villains than The Big Three, and Amajiki and Hado filled the roles. Mirio, on the other hand, played a civilian who continued to fall into the river and need saving. It was really nice seeing them again, though the villains gave the first years some trouble. Managing to capture Hado, only Amajiki was left, and Deku had the chance to knock him out. He couldn’t hit him for real though, which got him hit instead. Right then, the trio arrived. Kirishima headbutted Amajiki, and then it was Bakugo’s turn. He quickly got him down, and the exercise was concluded. However, Bakugo got a bit too much into it, and fired a blast at Amajiki due to him being a “villain”.

Aizawa will be reprimanding him, and that concluded the part of the episode. What was left was after the ED credits. We saw that Dabi and Hawks are meeting each other, indicating that the #2 Hero could be the traitor. He didn’t say anything, and the episode ended after the close up to his face. Guess we’ll find out in the next episode!

In case you haven’t watched My Hero Academia, the synopsis goes:

What would the world be like if 80 percent of the population manifested extraordinary superpowers called “Quirks” at age four? Heroes and villains would be battling it out everywhere! Becoming a hero would mean learning to use your power, but where would you go to study? U.A. High’s Hero Program of course! But what would you do if you were one of the 20 percent who were born Quirkless.

Middle school student Izuku Midoriya wants to be a hero more than anything, but he hasn’t got an ounce of power in him. With no chance of ever getting into the prestigious U.A. High School for budding heroes, his life is looking more and more like a dead end. Then an encounter with All Might, the greatest hero of them all gives him a chance to change his destiny…
