Attack on Titan: Final Season Part 2 Opening Hits 5 Million Views in a Day

Attack on Titan: Final Season Part 2 opening was revealed yesterday, after the Japanese broadcast of episode 76, which was titled Judgement. The opening sequence, which features “The Rumbling” by Japanese band SiM was uploaded on Pony Canyon’s YouTube channel and managed to surpass 5 million views in just 24 hours.

Takeshi Kojima directed and storyboarded the opening. He tweeted a special illustration and stated that he tried not to break the flow from the original story and previous openings:

The lyrics for the song were written by MAH, the lead vocalist of SiM. The band is credited for composing the song and the arrangement. The song was released in TV Size, with the full version coming at a later date.

MAH recorded a message which was published on Spotify Japan’s Twitter, in which he thanks everyone for the support and says he hopes that it will find its place in fans’ playlists.

At the time of writing the opening was on the US YouTube’s trending list, at no. 3. In addition to the opening, the ED by Ai Higuchi was also revealed. The ending theme is titled “Akuma no Ko” (a child of evil), and the video currently has 2 million views on YouTube. Full song is available to stream on Spotify.
