The trailer for the upcoming second part of the Free! The Final Stroke movie has just been released. The movie, which paves way for the franchise’s finale, is set for release in Japan on April 22. The new trailer features the theme song by OLD CODEX, titled “This Ending Blue”:
The first part of the movie was first released on September 17, 2021. Eisaku Kawanami returns as the movie’s director, and studio Kyoto Animation will be animating the movie. The movie announcement has been delayed multiple times, first due to the attack at Kyoto Animation studio, and the disbandment of OLDCODEX. It should be noted that OLDCODEX’s last song will be for the upcoming Free! The Final Stroke movie.
The second part of Free! The Final Stroke will focus on Haruka Nanase’s competition against Swedish swimmer Albert Volandel during the World Championships for swimming.
“Driven by an impulse that seems to have gouged out his heart, Haruka dares to choose the toughest training and devotes herself to the practice. Haruka deeply understands that he is overworking himself both physically and mentally. His friends had no choice but to believe in him and watch over him.”
