Japanese voice actress and singer Nana Mizuki has joined the cast of the upcoming Urusei Yatsura anime reboot as Kurama. Previously-announced cast members include Shizuka Ishigami as Benten, Saori Hayami as Oyuki, Katsuyuki Konishi as Rei, and Kana Hanazawa as Ran.
Kurama is described as an alien princess from the alien race Karasutengu. Her personality is best described as serious when it comes to finding the perfect suitor, and she only goes for the most handsome of them. When she gets angry, she will not hesitate in attacking anyone she sees interfering with her plan.
“Princess Kurama is passionate about her mission to leave behind an excellent descendant for her clan. In order not to lose out to the energetic characters, I played with full power head-on, so I hope everyone will enjoy it!”

Nana Mizuki has voiced numerous notable anime characters, including Hinata Hyuga in Naruto and Boruto: Naruto Next Generations, Fate Testarossa in Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha, Wrath in Fullmetal Alchemist, Riful in Claymore, Lan Fan in Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Tsubomi Hanasaki and Cure Blossom in HeartCatch PreCure!, Ren Hakuei in Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic, Margaret Liones in The Seven Deadly Sins, and Kozuki Hiyori in One Piece.
Some of her more recent roles include the Club President in Don’t Toy with Me, Miss Nagatoro, Airi Amano in D4DJ First Mix, Reiko Tamai in Tomodachi Game, and Satoko Tonai in the upcoming anime film Drifting Home.
The Urusei Yatsura reboot was announced in January of this year. It received a key visual and trailer in May. Other cast members include:

- Mamoru Miyano as Shutaro Mendo
- Miyuki Sawashiro as Sakura

Urusei Yatsura is based on the manga by Rumiko Takahashi, and was serialized in Shogakukan’s Weekly Shonen Sunday. Prior to the upcoming reboot, it received an anime adaptation from Studio Pierrot (episodes 1-106) and Studio Deen (107-195), which aired from October 1981 to March 1986.
