The official website of the upcoming Alice to Therese no Maboroshi Koujou film has announced details for the theme song: veteran Japanese singer-songwriter Miyuki Nakajima performing the song titled “Shin-On.” It is also worth noting that this will be the first time that Nakajima will be performing a song for an anime-related project.
Miyuki Nakajima, born on February 23, 1952; debuted her music career with the 1975 single “Azami Jo no Lullaby”. She rose to popularity with the track “The Parting Song (Wakareuta)”, released in 1977. According to her official profile, she has 44 albums released as of this writing, including How Do You Do (1984), 36.5°C (1986), Paradise Cafe (1996), Moon: Wings (1999), Otogibanashi: Fairy Ring (2002), Midnight Zoo (2010), CONTRALTO (2020), among others. Aside from her music career, she is also a radio personality and a literary writer.
In terms of the Alice to Therese theme song production, Nakajima admits that she doesn’t know anything about anime or games in general, but was genuinely surprised with the script’s direction. She added that she likens the feeling of first reading the script of a “middle school student’s unrequited love.”
