Akari Kito Covers Yoasobi's Beastars Opening Song Monster

Akari Kito covered YOASOBI’S song “Monster” in the latest video from the CrosSing project, which aims to connect various artists with popular songs. “Monster” was used as the opening theme for the second season of the BEASTARS anime and was among the top-viewed music videos in Japan in 2021.

Akari Kito is a Japanese voice actress and singer, born in 1994 in Aichi, Japan. Known among her fans as Akarin, Kito has voiced characters in numerous anime. Her most prominent roles include Nezuko Kamado from Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, Momo Chiyoda from The Demon Girl Next Door, Kate from Shadows House, Tsukasa Tsukuyomi from Tonikawa: Over The Moon For You, and Suzune Horikita from The Classroom of the Elite. This season she is voicing Eve from Birdie Wing: Golf Girls’ Story. The CrosSing channel also release an interview with Akarin, but it does not have English subtitles:

The YOASOBI song that Akari Kito covered, was written originally performed by Ikura, the vocalist of the YOASOBI duo. Ayase, who is the second half of the duo, composed, arranged, and wrote the lyrics for the song. YOASOBI was formed in 2019. The members include Ikura, vocalist-songwriter, and Ayase, a Vocaloid producer. Their debut single “Yoru ni Kakeru” came out in December of 2019.
