Attack on Titan manga is celebrating its 15th anniversary today with an announcement for a special edition of the Attack on Titan magazine, to be released on November 6. The magazine will be the same size as the Bessatsu Shonen Magazine, where Attack on Titan was originally serialized. It will feature parts of the original 139 chapters selected by the people involved in the project. Hajime Isayama drew the illustration for the cover.
Fans of the series can also vote in the new poll and answer which chapter of Attack on Titan made them fall in love with the series. In addition, to celebrate the anniversary Magazine Pocket is offering all of the manga’s chapters for free for the next 24 hours. Hajime Isayama’s manga was serialized in the Bessatsu Shonen Magazine from 2009 to 2021. The manga ended in April of 2021 and its chapters were compiled into 34 volumes. The final, 34th volume came out in June 2021. The Attack on Titan: FLY artbook was released last year in Japan and recently licensed by Kodansha US for English release. The new project was teased earlier this week.
The Attack on Titan anime also finished its 10-year run in the fall of last year with an 85-minute special episode. The manga received an anime adaptation by WIT Studio in 2013. Season 2 came in 2017, followed by the third season which was split into two cours. The first cour aired in the summer of 2018, while the second one started in April of 2019.
Studio MAPPA took over the franchise for the 4th season, which was titled Attack on Titan Final Season. It started airing in December 2020 and had a total of 16 episodes. After it finished airing in March of 2021, Part 2 was announced. Attack on Titan Final Season Part 2 started in January of 2022. It was followed by Attack on Titan The Final Season: The Final Chapters specials in March and November of 2023, which fully adapted the main story.
The Attack on Titan: Last Attack compilation movie was announced in August 2024.
