The latest Attack on Titan opening song, “The Rumbling” by SiM, received a special music video that features the scenes from the anime so far. Similar to the anime music video that “Akuma no Ko” got this year, this video also has lyrics on the screen and they correspond to significant scenes in the anime so far:
The music video was directed by Motohiro Ishii and produced by Masako Yoshikawa. The song by SiM was written and composed by MaH, the band’s vocalist. In a recent interview with AnimeCorner, MaH stated that the song is not aimed at adult Eren, but that once he started writing it, it was quite easy to empathize with him. The song combines elements of both Attack on Titan and SiM’s music style, without breaking the tradition the previous opening songs have set.
The song was initially revealed in TV size during the premiere of Attack on Titan Final Season Part 2. The full version came out on February 7, while the official music video (which is Attack on Titan inspired) was unveiled on March 2.
